Very Well Lit

THE SCENE:
Speaker came and picked me up at my house and we rode together to the great northern territory. What typically seemed like a long 25 minute commute from the heart of F3 Germantown to the Banks of Bartlett, flew by. It could have been the race car pace that Speaker is known for, or the great conversation that I don’t usually have when riding alone, but time seemed to pass quickly. Bootheel pulled into the lot right in front of us, we were all 10 minutes early. Chilly with a side of more chilly

F3 WELCOME & DISCLAIMER

Welcomed and Disclaimed

WARM-O-RAMA:
We all donned rucks and did a light warm up

  • Arm circles forward OYO
  • Arm circles reverse OYO
  • Tempo squats x 10 IC

THA-THANG:
Asked the PAX if they preferred Merkins or Squats. Bootheel chose Merkins.

Originally I was inspired by the CMU curl workout that Bootheel did at the Barracks where they added a curl at each light pole (42 total). I imagined doing the same with Merkins, but we got through the first Route 66 and I quickly changed my tune.

While we rucked a lap around the the park…

Route 66 #1

  • Increasing Ruck Merkins by 1 rep at each light pole. 11 total light poles.

At this point, looking at the never ending amount of light poles ahead of us, I opted to switch the exercise to squats, Speaker mentioned that this park was very well lit.

Route 66 #2

  • Increasing Ruck Squats by 1 rep at each light pole. 11 total light poles.

Route 66 #3

  • Increasing Ruck Merkins by 1 rep at each light pole. 11 total light poles

Route 66 #4

  • Increasing Ruck Squats by 1 rep at each light pole. 11 total light poles

We still had some time left so we rucked around the park 1 more lap sans reps.

MARY:

  • Flutter kicks with Ruck overhead x 40
  • Box cutters with Ruck overhead x 20
  • Plank until time
