Know that when you are stressed, hopeless and have little understanding that as Christians we know the ending. Slow mosey around small picnic area to the north of the pavilion (not around the parking lot because there were three women doing their own BC and one of them started to run as soon as we did and we didn’t want to give the appearance of a group of 13 men chasing after her….in the words of Chiochetti, “I’m not a stalker.”)

During mosey, we did crossovers, butt kickers, high knees

Mosey to the playground without CMU:

1 set of 30 second static holds: Static pull up, arm hang, and static chin up.  After one set, grabbed CMUs and partnered up.  Did three sets of alternating static movements alternating with partner who performed AMRAP dips, curls, and overhead presses.  After completion of one rotation, all PAX circled up on the playground for 15 reps of 10-count Head-Shoulders-Knees-and Toes with CMU. It was awful.

Mosey to the parking lot for lower body 11s.  Squats on one end, Monkey humpers on the other.  Travel method to and from was hopping on one leg.  Modification for hopping on one leg was lunges.

At all in, we transitioned to second set of 11s with Dive Bomber Merkins and CMU curls.  Side shuffle was the travel method alternating facing East and West.  Most Pax did 5-6 rounds of this set.

With 1-2 minutes remaining, all PAX held and did Hundreds for MARY until 0615.

Challenged PAX with the idea of viewing the word “faith” as the word “surrender”.  Was challenged by my pastor yesterday to consider faith as not simply the understanding that Jesus was a historical man who lived, died, was resurrected and lives forever, but that I am willing to ‘surrender’ my life in obedience with his will.  What does this look like in your life?  What does faith/surrender mean for you?
Great group.  Static pull ups were no joke.  Will definitely integrate those again.  One legged hops are still at bear.  PLC has become increasingly more awkward given the fact that we’ve got some random couple meeting up to have some “private time” together in the back of a red Bronco at 0630 every AM.  We are hopeful that it is intramarital and not extramarital.  Never a dull moment in the OF.
Prayers of thanksgiving for Baby Houston and for Goldilocks and Mrs. Goldilocks; Praying for Handsy and his wife’s health and her being alone while he travels.  One and Done in a time of transition in many phases of life and would like prayer.

Disturbance To The Status-quo

MOLESKIN: It’s been a minute since I Q’d at Old Forest. There were several faces that were new to me but familiar to the Group, and that’s a good thing. These fellas showed up in force and were ready to rock. I think they even secretly loved my Tabata Tunes. We did squats for Hitch. We did Merkins for errrrybody. OF tied with The Levee for KotB, so the Leveeites retained the title. But these men will always be #1 in my heart.

MOLESKIN: The Sky Q blessed us with a beautiful morning, and the PAX showed out. Only a couple complained of their physical status before the workout began, which led me to believe that the PAX rang in the new year without over-indulging. Those who partied with F3 Memphis at the 2018 New Year’s Day Convergence were familiar with many of the elements of today’s workout, but we were about 40 degrees warmer than one year ago. The difference in temperature is what inspired my challenge to the PAX–meet your commitments regardless of external conditions. Today was pleasant, but the storms are coming.

T-claps go out to…

  • Rabbit, who long ago EH’d a Texas Man, who eventually posted in Dallas and was named Mile High. Mile High ended up posting today and bringing two FNGs, which means Rabbit is credited with three PAX! The Man knows how to multiply.
  • U-Rock, who took some amazing still images of today’s workout. You can tell he used to work at Olan Mills.
  • Halfpipe, who probably only posted because his little brother asked him to.
  • Snowman, for carrying my Six up that hill.

I recently got a new job and went through a lot of ups and downs with the job search.  When I worried instead of keeping it in I gave it to God and shared it with my wife.  We need to share our worries and not keep them bottled up in side.  We can trust that God will take care of us.
