My family has been at church camp all week.  The theme of the camp was “God is Greater than…” with a different topic each day.

Monday was…(Darkness)

Tuesday was (Sin)

Wednesday was (Lies)

Thursday was (Fear)

Friday was (Death)

I want to remind you that our God is awesome.  He is greater than all those things.

MOLESKIN:
Congrats to Tremor and GunShow for completing their first 345!  What a great day for F3!  The workout was hard but doable for the kids.  Awesome 2nd F with 15 dozen donuts and a bunch of coffee, milk and juice.  Will look to do this quarterly.

Counted off 7 PAX.  PAX in turn would accept hand held luminescent orbital discus, call an exercise, then PAX sprint to the discus.  How every many seconds the PAX took to get to the discuss would determine the rep count.    If the throw fell short of YHC standards, then alternative transport mode would ensue.  Bearcrawls, crabwalks and power skips occurred.  Buprees, merkins, monkey humpers, lbc, arm circles are just a few of the exercises that were performed.

After a 1.5 hour conversation last night with my 12-year old daughter, I have discerned that two of the most important skills as a father are patience and listening.  Apparently…I had neither skill last night.  I would repeat exactly what I heard her say, word for word, as I did not understand and I could not get it right!

Lesson…build your patience and practice listening.

MOLESKIN:
I love it when PAX that have not done this workout do it thinking we are just going to play frisbee.  This work out involves so many sprints and reps that is usually smokes me.  I think that occurred for most of the PAX and it is fun to watch.

COT / BOM: A Virtuous Leader must be willing to sacrifice his plans for the Acceleration of the Group. Sometimes I’m too proud of my work, my preparation, and my intentions that I don’t achieve what I set out to achieve. Very often, I am more effective when I proceed only after looking in the eye of the Man next to me. This has been true my entire life—football, Army, and F3. Would that I apply those lessons as I Q at home, at work, and in my community.

MOLESKIN: This Group of HIMs came ready to work. Tomb Raider was gassed from bear crawling 5,280 feet before the workout, but you couldn’t even tell. A question:  How do we Do The Hard Thing (DTHT) in our concentrica (M, 2.0’s, close friends, family)?    How does F3 translate to the concentrica?

No answers here only ponderances.  However, this is a question we must continue to ask ourselves.  Is it the tangable acts of service to our wives, family, kids, friends?  Its going to look different for each man but part of it boils down to living for others.  I believe the intangile is hard for us men.  Hard to quantify the ‘results’.  When you end the BC workout you can say; ‘wow, we did 200 merkins, 150 burpees and ran 2 miles”.  Hard to quantify the daily contributions you made as a leader in your concentrica.

I challenge us all to evaluate the effort we put into our concentrica.  Did you call your friend who just lost his father (prayers be with you Streaker)?  Have you kissed your M today, told her she’s beautiful?  Have you played outside with your 2.0’s?  Did you remind your girls that they are smart, pretty, and worthy?  Have you called your mother recently (it would have been my fathers birthday yesterday, I failed to call my mom who I’m sure had a tough day)?  Hmmm.

DTHT in your Concentrica.  Invest in the Kingdom and the legacy you leave.

MOLESKIN:
I’d like to see more Tour de AO’s advertised so that those of us who would like to q other locals could come and find out what each offers and the amazing PAX who inhabit them.

To reiterate, I took the q helm Monday since we did not have the slot filled in advance.  Therefore, this was my second q of the week.  Again, not how we do things in F3.  Help your AO Q out and volunteer to q if you haven’t done so in the past two weeks.  This is healthy for individual leadership growth and is necessary for the growth of the AO.  Push those vQs.  Also, a great way of EHing your sadclown friends by guilt tripping them into posting at your workouts.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Start with why? The key to doing something great is purpose. I encouraged the PAX to ask themselves why in everything to do, big and small. In a results driven world, it is easy to get caught up in the how and what. Find the purpose and reason for everything you do or put purpose in the things that seem small or mundane.

THE MAN IN THE ARENA by Theodore ” O Positive” Roosevelt

“IT IS NOT THE CRITIC WHO COUNTS; NOT THE MAN WHO POINTS OUT HOW THE STRONG MAN STUMBLES, OR WHERE THE DOER OF DEEDS COULD HAVE DONE THEM BETTER.  THE CREDIT BELONGS TO THE MAN WHO IS ACTUALLY IN THE ARENA *gloom*, WHOSE FACE IS MARRED BY DUST AND SWEAT AND BLOOD; WHO STRIVES VALIANTLY; WHO ERRS, WHO COMES SHORT AGAIN AND AGAIN, BECAUSE THERE IS NO EFFORT WITHOUT ERROR AND SHORTCOMING; BUT WHO DOES ACTUALLY STRIVE TO DO THE DEEDS; WHO KNOWS GREAT ENTHUSIASMS, THE GREAT DEVOTIONS; WHO SPENDS HIMSELF IN A WORTHY CAUSE; WHO AT THE BEST KNOWS IN THE END THE TRIUMPH OF HIGH ACHIEVEMENT, AND WHO AT THE WORST, IF HE FAILS, AT LEAST FAILS WHILE DARING GREATLY, SO THAT HIS PLACE SHALL NEVER BE WITH THOSE COLD AND TIMID *fart-sacking* SOULS WHO NEITHER KNOW VICTORY NOR DEFEAT.”

YHC leaves this here as a reminder on why we do what we do and the impact our actions have on our lives and the lives of those we hold dear:

Men should do hard things.

Together.

But, let’s face it-more often than not we don’t.

Men, with exception-albeit rarely-lack consistent fitness, meaningful male friendships and a defined purpose in our lives.

And we get hammered with life’s ups and downs and become complacent or just give up. We stop leading. We start thinking it’s just not worth the effort anymore. A hard truth is that an isolated man is a dangerous man-to himself, his family and to his community.

But we have 2 choices: Become the status quo or become High Impact Men (HIM).

So, let’s dig deeper into that. When men become the status quo-we become ineffective leading ourselves, our families and ultimately, our communities.

But for those who disrupt the status quo, what we call High Impact Men (HIM) become the strong anchors that our families and communities need.

So, where can men turn these days?

Take F3 Memphis and this event, GrowRuck 12 Memphis as good examples.

With a proven track record of getting over 20,000 men across 20 states to step up into leadership roles, F3 Nation gives men a clear action plan to better themselves, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Free work-outs are provided. Open to all men. Held outdoor-rain or shine, heat or cold. Peer-led. Always ending in a circle of trust.

But what makes it effective and transformational is that F3 delivers on its promises by being accessible, providing men the opportunity to lead and fail in a safe place with no judgment, pushing men to their limits while encouraging them to modify as needed, providing an opportunity to build a healthy community to develop genuine friendships with other men, all while respecting one another for our similarities and our differences.

And the end result is evidenced by the men who commit to the process, core principles and come prepared to do the work.

Their lives will reflect healthier bodies (inside/out), more meaningful male friendships and a defined life’s purpose.

And for that we can all celebrate.

Shared pain builds trust. Well done men for putting in the work this weekend.

Well done.

Special thanks to
David Redding , Co-Founder of F3 , John Lambert , Seth Brown and the 2 Cadres , Cadre Daniel (F3:Linus) and Cadre Kevin who invested into these men this weekend.

MOLESKIN:
Safety first.  We mourn the loss of our brother down South, Darth Visor.  Loved by many.  Will be missed by many more.  Prayers for his family he leaves behind.  This I know, the F3 Nation community will love on this family in his absence.

This work-out was the inaugural use of the new F3 deck of pain.  With our 2 Willy Loman from Charlotte in the mix YHC felt this would be a solid work-out.  And it was.  Only got through 1/4 of the deck. #Cobains

There will be a sequel coming to an AO near you.

Proud of this group of HIM who came ready to work.  And work we did.

CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Rest- I shared how the past few weeks I had been struggling with rest. I tend at times to forget to let the Lord minister to me so I can enter a time of rest and remember that it is the Lord who fights for me and I don’t have to myself. When I don’t take the time to be still with God, I become anxious and try to control everything which is why the Lord commands us to rest. To remember that He is God, not us. So my challenge was for us to remember that the Lord is our inheritance and He should be everything we need for us to have rest and peace. Make sure you are taking time as Jesus did to walk in the rhythm of time with the Father and being engaged with the world. Don’t be overwhelmed and take time to rest in the Lord’s presence.
