Snow Day at Armory

I arrived 25 minutes early. I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to make it all the way in my car, so I had to leave time to abandon it on the side of the road, and finish my trip on foot. All things considered, roads were in pretty good shape, so I arrived without issue. Billy Blanks passed me on his way to work, as I waited, hoping someone else would show up.

23 degrees when I finally got out of the car at 5:23. Tropical, after the last few days.

I was worried I was going to be punished with another solo workout in the past few weeks, for taking on joint AOQ/QIC duties, but Oneder pulled in at 5:29.

Given as Oneder gathered his ruck, and joined me, where I’d cleared a patch for us to be able to do some burpees in minimal snow.
SSH 15x IC

High Knees 15x IC

Daisy Pickers 10x IC

Merkins 6x IC

Sandbag/Ruck Circuit. PAX 1 runs to playground, does 5 pull-ups, runs back. PAX 2 does AMRAP at station until PAX 1 returns. Flip flop, until all exercises covered.

  • Burpees
  • Lunges
  • Thrusters
  • No Surrenders
  • Kettle Swings
  • OHP
  • Squats

Finished one time through, and gave Oneder the choice: Do a 2nd round, or throw on our rucks, and do some laps around the park. He chose rucks. We did ~1.2 miles.

No time. Arrived back at shovel flag right at 6:15

2 PAX: Lochte (AOQ, QIC), Oneder

Stole the idea from Rocket Launcher, who stole the quote from Paper Cut. Picked out a quote from his list from a few days ago that resonated with me:

14. What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say. —Ralph Waldo Emerson

This workout would be much better suited with 5-9 guys, so that you do not end up doing pull-ups every other set, but we played the hand we were dealt. Cut curls out of the out of the circuit rotation, since we got so many pull-ups in.

Oneder did the entire workout with his ruck on, cuz he’s a beast! We need a was/now from that guy, cuz I know he couldn’t have done that a few months ago!

Baltic Burpee Challenge payoff tomorrow morning at Six Wicket, pre-BC. Tent pole will do 150 burpees, sans shirts, for all the animals that posted in the snow the first four days this week. If you are able to arrive safely, it’s sure to be a good time!
