COT / BOM:

YHC is reading through the Bible chronologically, and the specificity of the genealogies has stuck out.  The historical account contained in the Bible is incredibly specific in that regard.  Generation after generation is accounted for by name.  Details are given about the loss of birthrights, which children were born to loved wives versus unloved wives versus servants, blessings given to each son of Israel.  To think that every birth, death, son, daughter, relationship, etc. is under the authority of God is staggering.  Not a single mistake has been made since the beginning of time.  It all weaves into God’s narrative of love, redemption, grace, and mercy.  God has given all authority to Christ, so we can know that everything we experience–every relationship, job, family of origin, untimely death, struggle, joy–is accounted for and has a purpose for our ultimate good.  That is humbling.  It’s also quite exciting.  God is that big, and he pursues us in love.  What a wonder.  Let’s find encouragement and joy in that today.

Prayers for Dirty Deeds as he is grieving, Ms. Bailey and her house, a MAM family whose home and everything in it burned down, Teacher’s Pet’s cousin’s medical procedure.

Moleskin:

I don’t like running.  I like running with the men of F3.  Maybe I like running.  Nope.  I don’t like running.  I just like F3 a lot.

Announcements:

Continuation of service project this Saturday for Ms. Baily (meet at the Berm at 0650 Saturday morning).  Mothership BC still a go.  Dirty Deeds’ wife’s memorial and funeral this weekend.
