Rucks, Ramps, and a Ring of Fire

I was delayed by a train by 1 minute and by the time I arrived, there were several cars, but no PAX. Barnum emerged from the shadows with his weight vest. Boy, I thought the PAX had taken off without me pretty quick. RUDE. So, we decided to mozy to the ramp and carry on. Soon enough we encountered the gallivanting ruckers and proceeded to the ramp, which was closed. Inspired by Choker, we were not going to let the flashing road signage tell us what to do.

Seasoned veterans. They knew what they were getting into.

The consensus was that we did not need one due to the pre-rucking and ruck to the ramp

Ring of Fire:

Round 1: Hold plank while each PAX takes a turn executing 25 squats

Mozy (several with rucks) to top of ramp

Round 2: Hold Al Gore while each PAX takes a turn executing 25 merkins

Mozy (several with rucks) to top of ramp

Round 3: Flutter kicks while each PAX takes a turn executing ten 8-count body builders

Mozy (a few with rucks) to top of ramp

Round 4: Alternate between 5 merkins and 5 glute bridges while each PAX takes a turn at executing 20 lunges (the final 4 PAX performed their lunges simultaneously for the sake of time)

Indian Ruck back to Startex

Included in the workout; no time at the end

(6 PAX; 0 FNGs): Four Eyes, Barnum, Soybean, Hitch, Chioccetti, Ricky Bobby (AOQ, QIC)

Don’t be quick to judge. It makes you sour.

Hitch added a nice quote from some guy about being more curious than judgmental.

Prayed for a few of the PAX.

For the next Ring of Fire, I will have the PAX alternate between low reps of exercises while the singular PAX executes large reps of one exercise. The plank and Al Gore was boring and not a heartrate booster. It did burn though. As indicated, the last round had this alternating format. I switched it up because I thought it would be better than holding Bird Dog as I had planned.

I had to find an alternate route because of the train over Hollywood. As AOQ, I feel that I should arrive early to welcome PAX and FNGs. So, instead of aiming to be on time, I will make efforts to be early.

As we Indian Rucked back to startex, we passed worker-outers who were paying to be there. Every single one of them gave us looks of intrigue. Made me proud to be part of F3. I hope those people get what they need from their membership, but they’ll never get as much for their money as we do from each other. That is, unless you shell out for anything Goruck. Which I will be doing shortly.

I keep meaning to promote the San Antonio and/or Myrtle Beach Grow Ruck events.

I appreciate that guys showed up, and I look forward to future Friday workouts.
