Preblast for the Week of 5/7/18

Slack Rises from GroupMe’s Ashes:
This Saturday (5/12), we’re migrating all internal #COMZ to Slack. GroupMe will be retired forever. GroupMe is a very simple tool, but can be overwhelming for people based on the number of messages and the inability to search message history. Slack will allow each of us to cut out excess noise and get only the information we want to see. You can keep Slack wide open and see everything (like GroupMe is now), or you can pare it down to see only the bare essentials (and anything in between). 

GroupMe’s “chats” will be replaced by Slack’s “channels” – these can be public or private. We’ll have a number of public channels (AOs, rucking, etc), but you can always leave or mute channels that don’t interest you. Like GroupMe, Slack is only for internal #COMZ; our external #COMZ (twitter, facebook, website) will remain unchanged. Those external tools are our official places of record, and will continue to have everything you absolutely need to know. 

It might take us a little bit to adjust and get used to Slack, but we believe it’s a more effective tool for our purposes. There’s a basic user’s guide linked below, and you can find all kinds of tutorials and tips via The Google.

2.0 Workout:
Sunday, May 20, at 3pm, we’re doing a 2.0 workout (that’s kids – CHECK THE LEXICON) at Mothership. Mama’s Boy and O Positive will co-Q. The kids will have fun, and dads will get a workout. M’s are welcome to come watch (and laugh). It’s going to be a good time.

GrowRuck 12:
The date has been finalized: 9/21-23. Put it on your calendars now, and let’s start training! This event combines a GORUCK Custom Tough challenge with F3’s Lead School, led by Dredd and OBT. Friday night will include some solid 2nd F action. Saturday morning we’ll do a bootcamp and F3’s Grow School (led by Dredd and OBT). Saturday night through Sunday morning will be the GORUCK Tough challenge, the quintessential CSAUP event. We sent nine HIM to Chattanooga last year for GrowRuck 05, and we all came home with stronger bonds as brothers, lots of personal lessons, and a greater appreciation of F3’s mission and vision. Toledo just had 97 start and finish GrowRuck 09. Our goal is to beat that number. Start training and headlocking now!
