Pascal’s Wager
THE SCENE: Threatening tornado weather, but time enough for boot camp at the Barracks.
F3 WELCOME & DISCLAIMER Disclaimed.

THA-THANG:S01 (SEAL) Jason Dale Lewis was killed by an IED while conducting combat operations in Southern Baghdad July 6, 2007.
The “Jason” Hero WOD was first posted on crossfit.com – in honor of his life, family, and courage – as the workout of the day for Thursday, August 2, 2007 (070802).
Have been wanting to Q this for some time and there was no better place than the Barracks. This was a modified version where the Air Squats were changed to Ruck/Weight Vest Squats and the muscle-ups were switched to pull-ups.*
*This WOD was necessarily modified because the Barracks is no mere crossfit gym.
Squats IC-100–>5 pull-ups. Squats IC-75–>10 pull-ups. Squats IC-50–>15 pull-ups. Squats IC-25–>20 pull-ups.
Rucks off except for Bookworm who is in full HTL mode training.
A bonus round of 10 squats, 25 pull-ups was added-no surprise to Shoestring.
2 Sets: merkins 20, wide-arm merkins 20, diamond merkins 20, dips 20. (second set modified to 10 reps)
MARY:
BBS, 4-count Flutter Kicks (Hitch), 1 minute Plank.
COUNT-OFF & NAME-O-RAMA
Bookworm, Old Man Hitch, Shoestring, Tomb Raider, Soybean, Beauty Shop, Jail Bait, Orange Julius (QIC).
CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
YHC did a poor job of explaining the logical thinking of the 17th century Christian philosopher and scientist Blaise Pascal.
School of Life does a better job: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nb4nYqNXyM
MOLESKIN:
Hitch didn’t grumble and fuss too much about form. Its a tough group and the Barracks faithful handled this Q with ease. As the 2nd F Q pointed out “We didn’t move much, but it seemed we did a lot of work.”
