COUNT-OFF & NAME-O-RAMA 5 PAX including Ricky Bobby, Jailbait, Altar Boy, Climate Control and Moth Balls CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM: I was caught off guard this year by the political drama. I’m still trying to wrap my mind around how much hate has been created in one year. Though I feel personally in my life race relations are good, it seems as a country I’ve never seen more division in regards to race and political parties. I don’t say this to debate who is right or wrong. I say this as a reflection on where I was before things got ugly? How was I leading in helpful ways? I wasn’t. If God puts something on my heart I can’t be complacent. It doesn’t matter if what he has called me to is difficult. Recently, I felt God calling me to post two weeks worth of MLK quotes online. I don’t like posting on social media much anymore, and at some points I was annoyed with myself as I know some people were. However, I kept doing it and I’m glad I did. I feel like my relations with diverse friends are good, but I believe we’re called to do more than that. As leaders we need to be involved on another level. I am called to live for Christ. It’s not comfortable, it isn’t easy most of the time, but it is fulfilling. I want to live a full life for Christ and quite frankly the execution is overdue. I believe I am called to lead in ways that impact social justice, and with a rapidly changing culture it’s time to be involved in impactful ways.
