Weather: November without rain; some humidity, but ideal for BC
WARM-O-RAMA: SSH x 50 IC, Daisy Pickers x 25 IC, Static hamstring stretch and downward dog for achilles/calves, progress into Merkins 10 IC, Arm Circles 20 IC – Flapjack, SSH x 25 IC, 2 lap mosey around center island
THA THANG: Partner up for DORA 1-2-3 (100 merkins, 200 BBS, 300 squats) While one partner cozies up to DORA, the other completes (my favorite exercise) a triangle. Triangle includes hopping on one leg to one point (about 15-20 yards), lung walking to the next point and then hopping on the alternate leg back to the beginning. It’s really great.
PAX completed all reps and we all completed one additional triangle. Once completed, each PAX would hold low-plank until all in.
MARY: LBC’s x 50 IC, LOL’s x 15 (L-O-L on both sides), Box Cutters x 10 IC, 6″ leg raise 1 min til all in
COUNT-O-RAMA: 8 PAX (no FNGs): Barnum, Doc Hollywood, Bottomless (QIC), Jailbait, Handsy, Swanson, Scarecrow, Shrink
COT: Regardless of our political leanings, I’ve been taught a new realization that allows me to view political affiliation more clearly: fear drives our primary politicial mindset. When we recognize that party affliation or candidate affiliation directly correlates with a persons greatest fears, it is much easier to understand and see their point of view. We might not agree. We won’t always, but seeing each other and valuing each other is critical in a clearly divided nation. We don’t know the outcome of the election, but we do know that people are afraid. I’m afraid, but its how we engage our fears that will determine how we progress in the coming days, weeks, months, and years. As HIM, let us recognize our own fears, acknowledge them, and work towards ensuring that our fears are not what dictates our every thought, action, deed.
Moleskin: clear that everyone was tired from a long night of election watching. Felt good to be with other men who wanted to put in the work and engage hard things. Grateful to have this community.
Prayer: Scarecrow to be able to work with his students as they tackle their own fears related to the uncertainty of the election.
