The Thang:

PAX divided into teams by AO (Lair vs Levee) for the First-ever Battle of the Burbs. At stake was the coveted CollierTrill Cup (est. 2018).

First event was a team relay between several stations. PAX completed two rounds of the workout and maintained movement in between sets or while waiting.

Sprint 100 yards to end line
Sprint back 80 yards to first station
20 merkins/single arm dummbell rows
Bear crawl 20 yards to next station
40 single arm kettlebell swings (20 each arm)
20 yard lunge with overhead coupon press
40 yard sprint to end line
40 yard sprint back
20 yard lunge with overhead coupon press
60 yard sprint to finish

Men of the Levee won in a photo finish.

Event two consisted of a sprint Indian Run (Hoosier Run if you’re PC) for two laps around field. Men of Levee also took this event in a not-so-photo-finish.

Event three – more 100 yard sprint relays – was canceled due to time constraints, much to the delight of PAX who were making all manner of unpleasant sounds after the Team Indian Run.

Mary: Flutter kicks IC x 20, ABCs (yes, in cadence), Jane Fondas IC x 15

Count-o-Rama

Name-o-Rama

COT / BOM:
YHC encouraged men to work for the Lord but also for others moreso than themselves. Much like the spirited competition of the Battle of the Burbs, it’s easier to quit or to not give maximum effort when you live or think on an island. When you realize your work, your leadership at home, your active participation in F3, your faith, etc. isn’t only about you – but about how you can impact others – you’re less likely to revert back to Sad Clown Syndrome. Being part of a team means you’ll give more of yourself, be present, be accountable, and be vulnerable. All good things.

YHC read from Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered,
    two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Moleskin:
PAX were/are encouraged to get out and post at other AOs than their primary one on occasion. We have several great places in F3 Memphis to do work together to get better. Today was a fun way to show off the Lair to brothers from the Levee and to engage in some healthy competition. Let’s keep the Collierville Cup moving around and raise each other up during the weekday BCs.
