Christmas Eve Half Grinch and Jump Rope Gambling

Nice and chilly with a 30 degree overnight temp drop. When my alarm went off to pre-run the temp was 31 with a real feel of 23. Don’t think it got any warmer throughout the morning; but the last time I argued the weather with someone it was literally with Jim Cantore and I was wrong so….there’s that.

15 Daisy Pickers IC

@Paper Cut informed me I forgot to say “exercise” on each warm up. Classic VQ move!

Mosey to stables. Here we partnered up in groups of 2 and did a modified Grinch. Each pair collectively did 100 pull ups, 100 merkins, 100 big boy sit ups and squats. Each PAX also ran to Poplar Pike and back twice; the equivalent of .5 miles round trip each time if Harvard’s watch from last Wed was accurate.

Mosey back to shovel flag. Here we circled up and I brought out an exercise dice (or die?; I don’t know) and a jump rope with slight weight in the handles. 1 PAX does 100 reps in the center of the circle and rolls the dice. Whatever the dice lands on the other PAX perform on their own until the man in the middle finishes. The options were merkins, Side Straddle Hops, crunches, walking lunges, squats and a “wild” space which I made mountain climbers. IF the PAX jumping rope fails to do 100 consecutively all other PAX do 5 burpees at the end. PAX in the middle then calls out another PAX to jump next.

Stopped the above with 2-3 minutes left and had time for 24 flutter kicks IC 15 shoulder taps IC and then hold plank til 6:15

19 including 1 FNG “Wiggles.” Should be noted that Hooker was suggested but already taken. Hobby Lobby lobbied for Gonorrhea but it’s Christmas Eve so we didn’t have the heart.

Apologies to 3/19 PAX not on the list below. I can only count to 16 and am still learning all the names.

Talked about Joseph. He usually gets overlooked around Christmas time but of all the men in the Bible only 1 is Jesus earthly Dad. So be like Joseph and take care of your family even when the unexpected happens and times get tough.

Prayed for Ryan Howard’s Sister in law and that the Memorial Ruck for Ricky Bobby’s son goes well Sunday.

Leading BC was more stressful than I thought it would be. I’ve come 20 or so times but never Q’d. Difficult balance making the workout challenging enough for the most fit PAX and doable for the least fit. I opted for a lot of OYO exercises so everyone could pace themselves accordingly. Great turnout of 19 PAX; if I would have known that number may have split up into 2 groups and brought another jump rope.

Martin James Jordan 10.01K Ruck on Sunday 12/27 in memory of Ricky Bobby’s son; more information to come in the next 2 days. Cheezsteak has a note in the announcements on it.
