Burpees ’round the park
Dry, 48 degree at the start, fresh diesel scent in the air from the trash trucks. Sunrise by the end of the workout means Spring is around the corner!
F3 WELCOME & DISCLAIMER:
Welcomed and disclaimed in brief.
SSH IC x30, Imperial Walkers x30, daisy pickers x15, stretch yourself x1min
2 sections to the workout:
Burpee mile – 8 stops along the mile route (1.1 miles, Landline?) with 10 burpees at each stop. Quick and to the point at first, more opportunities to catch your breath as the mile went on. At the finish, 1 minute rest then mosey to the gazebo area.
Part 2 – Find a toadstool for 20 step-ups, 10 each side. Follow it with 10 derkins. Finish the round with 20 BBSU. Complete the rotation x4. Jog halfway to the ditch-crossing then sprint the rest of the way.
20 LBCs IC, 20 Freddy Mercuries IC (10 fast, 10 slow), 20 hello dollies, finish with 20 box cutters, which I think tore some stuff…
COUNT-OFF & NAME-O-RAMA:
4 PAX, all veterans with Chuck E. Cheese, Hot-N-Ready, Black Diamond, and Oscar on Q.
CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
In sports and strength training, the “try harder” mentality yields positive results. In our faith and with our character, my propensity for a legalistic “try harder” mentality leaves me unsatisfied without the results I want. In humility I need to cling to the saving grace of God through Jesus’ death on the cross and by the power of the spirit I can be sanctified and shaped more into his image. The gospel is the answer, not my own best efforts.
4 folks were enough to push hard without it being awkward. I’m glad for PAX who will push me so I don’t just phone it in. I’m grateful to be more and more a part of this community.
