Boxing Day (12/26) @AO-Blazing-Saddle

Unseasonably warm, with wet grass from earlier rain. Temp near 60.

25x SSH IC; 5x Bend and Reach IC, 5x Arm Circles IC (fwd + back); 5x WM IC – I prefer to really go slow during warm ups to adequately stretch.

Thought that it would be a good idea to use some different workout implements than just the norm, i.e., CMUs and body weight. I brought in a bunch of dumbells from home as well as a Swiss ball and Ab mat for stations.  Stations broke out as follows:

  1. Burpees
  2. 35# Dumbell Bentover Row
  3. Air Squats
  4. CMU Mercans
  5. 25# Military Press
  6. Swiss Ball Crunches
  7. 25# KB Swings
  8. Walking Lunges w/ 15# dumbells
  9. 20# Dumbell Curls
  10. 10# Shoulder Raises/Flies
  11. Swimmers on the ab mat

Used my Jeep for music – numerous derogatory comments about my workout jam playlist that prominently featured Ke$ha. Sets 1 and 2 were 45x seconds/station. 100M or so mosey down and back prior to Set 3. Set 3 was 30x seconds/station. Tried to split the stations up so that we didn’t hit the same muscle group repetitively. General consensus of the pax was that using the dumbells was great, and that we aren’t as strong as we think that we are.  Bentover rows w/ 35# dumbells seemed to be a smoker.  I probably need to use a stop watch in lieu of my Apple Watch for timing sets.
