Bauer Hour 5: 2200-2245
10pm; Bauer Hour 5. I had posted for the opener at 6pm, then went home for dinner and a few hours with the family before coming back out for my Q. I figured the temp (low 30s), darkness, and 4 straight workouts would have thinned the crowd out a bit and we’d be down to just the hard core crazies attempting the Full Bauer. I was wrong.
F3 WELCOME & DISCLAIMER:
I’m not a professional. Push yo’ self but don’t break yo’ self. Modify as necessary, but don’t modify until necessary.
A CSAUP workout should start with something Completely Stupid. So we did Tony Hawk Motivators down from 6.
Daisy Pickers x10 IC
Imperial Walkers x15 IC
Arm Circles x10 IC (each direction)
A week or so ago, Landline posted this helpful graphic for those planning a Q who were not as familiar with what was available at Blazing Saddle.
This prompted a sub-challenge to see who could incorporate the highest number of labeled attractions from his map. I knew I wouldn’t win that challenge, but I wanted to set the bar reasonably high.
We made a 10-stop tour of the AO with the following exercises. #1 at the first stop, #1 and #2 at the second stop, and so on.
30 Carolina Dry Docks
35 Alternating Shoulder Taps
45 Overhead Claps
50 Monkey Humpers
We had just started the reps at stop 9 when Hobo advised me that we had reached the 2 minute warning. So we stopped there and moseyed back to the Shovel Flags. I guess the Corps don’t get theirs tonight.
~45 second plank until 2245.
COUNT-OFF & NAME-O-RAMA:
33 PAX – the time slot I expected to be dwindling in numbers turned out to be the highest-attended of the entire event!
CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Ecc 9: 4-12 – what I refer to as “The F3 Scripture” (omitting vs 11, NTTAWWT):
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.
If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
I told the group that we were standing in the middle of a cord of 33 strands, and there was no way it could be broken.
CSAUPs are always Completely Stupid, but rarely Utterly Pointless. The Bauer was an incredible event and I think everyone who attended was blessed to be a part of it. TCLAPS to everyone who had a hand in coordinating it, but especially Hobo (overall event), Wheezer (food and 2nd F), and Cheezsteak (fundraising and 3rd F). Great job, men.
Equinox Challenge is underway. Get some.
