CIRCLE OF TRUST/BOM:
Shared with the PAX about some of the animals and what they represent in the Bible.
10 ANIMALS THAT TEACH US IMPORTANT SPIRITUAL LESSONS
- DEER
Sure-footed, graceful, beautiful
God is the one who gives me strength. He clears the path I need to take. He makes my feet as steady as those of a deer. Even on steep mountains he keeps me from falling. PSALM 18:32-33
- EAGLE
Soaring, faithful, unafraid of storms
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. ISAIAH 40:31
- ANT
Hardworking, purposeful, cooperative, foresightful
Go to the ant, O sluggard, Observe her ways and be wise. PROVERBS 6:6
- LAMB AND SHEEP
Innocent, relational, knows the Shepard’s voice
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. JOHN 10:27
- CAMEL
Persevering, steady pace, sojourner
Camels, especially in the past, were known for traveling long distances, across deserts, with very little water. So they are very enduring, persevering and “hardy” animals.
In this life, we go through difficult times and trying seasons, and we have to persevere, keep plodding forward, toward the ‘prize’. PHILIPPIANS 3:14
- LOCUSTS
Powerful when unified, initiative
The locusts have no king, yet all of them go out in ranks. PROVERBS 30:27
- DOVE
Innocent, harmless, symbolic of peace
“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.”
MATTHEW 10:16
- SPARROW
Trusting, joyful
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? MATTHEW 6:25-27
- OX
Patient, servant’s heart, knows his Master
“An ox knows its owner, And a donkey its master’s manger, But Israel does not know,
My people do not understand.” ISAIAH 1:3
- LION
Strong, bold, fearless, confident
One of Jesus’ titles is the Lion of Judah. REVELATION 5:5. The lion denotes great strength, power, majesty, the King of all!
